Illuminatio is one of 16 compositions by Australian women composers published in Australian Women Composers' Piano Anthology Volume II. It was selected via an application process by the anthology editor, Katie Zhukov, who is a well regarded performer, recording artist, and researcher at University of Queensland. Illuminatio was originally intended for jazz improvisation in either a solo or ensemble setting. This version is fully scored for piano solo.
