Abstract
[Figure not available: see fulltext.]
The progression from advanced kidney failure to dialysis start is a challenging and vulnerable time for patients. While dialysis is a life-sustaining treatment, chronic dialysis recipients experience ongoing high symptom burden [1]. Many of these symptoms are often under-recognised and under-treated by renal clinicians and may not be fully resolved even in well-dialysed patients [2].
