Abstract
We have been witnessing both the rapid development and successful deployment of a variety of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigms. Somehow, the ITS researchers, developers and practitioners do not use the term IoT so often, in their day-to-day communications, as the “things” for us are rather “transport things” i.e.: (i) transport participants (pedestrians; drivers of road, air and sea vehicles; automated vehicles, etc.); (ii) transport services providers; (iii) traffic control centres; (iv) transport system centres; (v) transport infrastructure and alike.
