Abstract
This Review of the community broadcasting sector’s National Training Program has canvassed a range of views from inside and outside the sector, between August-November 2014. Our key focus has been to identify current strengths in the NTP; current weaknesses; to determine ways that might build on the strengths and address the weaknesses; and to project future training directions and priorities for the sector. All of the surveys and interviews we have conducted have been designed with these core foci in mind. These considerations cross both the micro and macro aspects of the National Training Program – from management structure and performance, to the grant operations and processes, and through to the actual content of training courses. The Review has considered international literature, which might inform the Community Broadcasting Foundation about potential changes to the National Training Program as it looks to the next five years of operation and development.
