Abstract
This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: The objective of this review is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of administering probiotics for the post-operative management of term neonates regarding the incidence of sepsis, mortality, time to full enteral feeds, duration of hospital stay and the intestinal microflora. We aim to evaluate benefits and harms with the use of probiotics in individual gastrointestinal pathologies and specific probiotic products, if sufficient data is available.
