Abstract

Research on risk perception among lay people has been considerable within the context of tourism. Existing literature has focused on tourists’ risk perception of human-caused and natural disasters, on financial, physical and social-psychological risks, and on perceived risks regarding equipment, food, health and on different modes of transport (Le and Arcodia, 2018, 2021). To be able to define risk perception, it is essential to understand the notion of risk, so-called objective risk.
