Abstract
Food and beverage industries generate large quantities of process wastewater rich in organic matter and nutrients. Degrading organic matter in the natural environment will release greenhouse gas emissions and pollute water bodies. Anaerobic digestion is considered as an attractive, sustainable environmental treatment option to manage these wastewaters and utilise the produced biogas for heat and electricity generation.
