Abstract
This ECAR research bulletin provides a framework to assist universities in making sound investments in research information infrastructure in an increasingly complex global knowledge economy. In today's globalized world, many of the drivers and challenges are common across the world's developed and developing nations-hence, the strategies adopted by nations and universities are becoming increasingly similar across the globe. As university information professionals it will be our role to assist our universities, and our nations, to make informed investment decisions. This bulletin provides insight into the complexities, challenges, and opportunities of the global knowledge economy in which we all play a part.
