Abstract
This technical report presents the methodology, findings and data for the Attitudes to Authority during COVID-19 Survey (heron referred to as the COVID-19 Survey). The survey was administered by Griffith University researchers during the initial period of the global novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak in Australia. It was administered via Facebook for a three-week period to gauge Australians’ views about the COVID-19 crises, its impact on their lives, and their attitudes regarding Australian authorities’ response to the pandemic. The following sections of the report present: (a) the background literature informing the project, (b) the aims of the project, (c) the methodology used to collect the survey data, and (d) a summary of the main findings obtained from the survey. Following this, the items used to construct key measures in the survey are presented. The actual survey instrument used in the project is then presented at the back of this report, with a detailed breakdown of participant responses provided to each survey item.
