Due to the increasing requirements for large-scale complex computation and communication arising from science, engineering and business on one hand, and for energy saving to reduce cost and protect environment on the other hand, parallel and distributed computing has been under many years of development, coupled with different research and application trends such as cloud computing, green computing, big data analytics and machine learning. Nowadays the theory, design, analysis, evaluation and application of parallel and distributed computing systems are still burgeoning, particularly for meeting the demands of booming applications of AI-driven bigdata analytics.
