Abstract

A 55‐year‐old woman presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain and diarrhoea. The patient had no significant medical history and did not take medications. A computed tomography (CT) abdominal scan demonstrated thickening of the ascending colon and diverticulosis. The patient was admitted for 24 h of intravenous antibiotics and then discharged with a presumptive diagnosis of uncomplicated diverticulitis.
