Abstract
The latter half of 2021 saw the continuing COVID-19 crisis evolve into a deeper debate over border openings, quarantine and vaccines that tested the limits of federalism. Improving economic conditions thereafter presaged a real estate boom, just as Brisbane was announced as the host city for the 2032 Olympic Games. The period also saw the beginnings of a major integrity crisis that would beset the Labor Government in 2022.
