Abstract

While democracy has universal appeal and a high degree of adaptability, its is constantly undercut by its own propensity to oligarchy and empire. To keep democracy relevant and strong, the citizenry must seize the opportunity to reform and recreate its ideas and institutions as they constantly democratise democracy.
