Abstract

Prescription requirements differ between jurisdictions, meaning that a prescription valid in one state or territory may be invalid elsewhere. Pharmacists practising in the Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania should be aware that certain interstate prescriptions are not valid in their respective jurisdictions and that the medicines affected by possible prescription invalidity are not consistent across jurisdictions (Table 1).
