Abstract
Food insecurity is one of the greatest challenges facing humanity today. While various developments have been made over the years to improve food security within nations, market interventions in the agribusiness system have received relatively little research attention. Therefore, the scope of this thesis is to explore the access and efficiency of the agribusiness marketing system that enhances food security primarily focusing on Asia, with a special focus on Sri Lanka. This thesis proposes five research questions that are related to the agribusiness marketing system and food security.
