Abstract
Selecting a range of representative samples, this chapter addresses some of the uses to which the 3D model has been put. It maps the major ways in which the model has been put to work across two main areas: (1) research and policy; and (2) teaching and teacher education. The first section outlines some of the ways in which the model has been deployed in research and policy, beginning with the Digital Rhetorics project in the mid 1990s. The second section describes the uses made in teaching - English and literacy teaching but also in other subject areas - and in teacher education, both at pre-service and in subsequent forms of professional learning and development.
