Abstract
In this final chapter I consider possible future directions for research into Chinese English, making occasional reference to the earlier chapters in this book and other recent research into the field. As readers of this volume will know, Chinese English represents a diverse field and this concluding chapter therefore considers future directions for further research under a number of subheadings, namely: linguistic features; cultural conceptualisations; rhetoric, including the role of CE in higher education; attitudes towards CE; CE and identity construction; multilingual creativity; and, finally, the overall extent of CE use across China.
