Abstract
Apologies, the statement you indicated1is not based from our studyfindings but based on findings supported by papers referenced in thearticle as an introductory statement. This brief literature review wasperformed to support our belief, as yours, that transanal endoscopic microsurgery is in fact better oncologically than either mucosal re-section or direct trans-anal excision.2–6Though our study is only areview of results that conclusion is not at all drawn from our report. We wished to report our results from a regional centre, but unfor-tunately do not have the facility to perform a randomized study.I hope this clarifies any confusion regarding this statement.
