Abstract
Leach reflects on the danger of defining good architecture. The text is a quest that opens up perspectives. The answer to the question of good architecture should not be found in traditional notions like detail, ornamentation or comfort. Perhaps it is more interesting not to pose the question. Every definition of good architecture entails a doctrinaire way of thinking, which reduces architecture to a narrow form, while good architecture can in fact be an invitation to dedicate oneself broadly and profoundly to creating space.
