The tsunami of new drama, communications, screen production and digital media courses has excited publishers attempting to develop the ur-text – a screenwriting or script and drama structure handbook that can becomes a standard for more than three weeks after its initial release, while maintaining some academic credibility. The problem is that global communications industries are aleatory and whimsical in employment and addicted to the experiential in training. Set against this tendency are recent alarming noises from the Federal educational bureaucracy to install Benchmark and Industry Standard training systems for industries that are still suspicious of the academy.
