Abstract

Abstract: The role of females in offending behaviour, both in terms of understanding causal processes, as well as relevant theories to explain female offending and the appropriate system responses to control and prevent female offending is an often over looked and misunderstood area of inquiry. This editorial talks about how the articles in this special issue engage the issues that arise when exploring crime and criminal behaviour by gender.
