Abstract
Recently, two editorials were published providing updated guidance on the reporting of race and ethnicity in research publications [1], [2]. In both editorials, the authors urged greater commitment to ensuring health equity, by encouraging fairness, consistency and clarity in the reporting of race and ethnicity [1], [2]. There are some fundamental challenges though.
