Abstract
In this Sustainable Built Environment National Research Centre (SBEnrc) research project we have sought to identify the strengths and weaknesses of various social procurement approaches for social and affordable community rental housing in Australia. As an outcome of this research, a set of social procurement criteria will be developed to assist those responsible for both policy development, and asset and service delivery. To address this, social value procurement criteria have been developed, to allow both policy and delivery discussions around alternative social procurement approaches appropriate to the housing which will be needed in the future, to address changing demographic needs and emerging housing and community typologies. This report has been prepared in parallel with this overarching research (through funding from Keystart Homeloans) to provide a more complete response to this topic.
