Abstract
Smoking is the leading cause of preventable morbidity and mortality. Smoking rates in the United States are 18%, exposing 54% of children under the age of 11 to secondhand smoke (SHS) on a regular basis.1,2 SHS exposure contributes to health issues such as bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and otitis media in infants and children.
