Abstract

This weighty tome adds substance to the growing number of print resources on Australian cinema and its history. Unfortunately, as with all such sources, printed bibliographies covering contemporary, as opposed to historical, subjects or fields can never remain current. Australian Film: A Bibliography is only really comprehensive in its coverage of Australian. and overseas journal articles, monographs, reviews, conference proceedings, commentary and books on the Australian cinema for material published before 1988. Coverage ends completely in late 1994. So, for work on more recent films, issues and personalities, the bibliography is of limited use.
