Bronchiectasis, highly prevalent in the mid‐20th century,1 was relegated to ‘orphan disease status’ by the end of the century.2 However, following international collaboration (including registries3, 4) and research from many groups, its high disease burden is once again being appreciated with reported increases in diagnoses,5 clinical research and pharmaceutical interest.6, 7 Accordingly, Respirology launched a series encompassing children and adults.8 This review highlights major recent publications on bronchiectasis.
