Abstract

The rehabilitation of patients with reduced bone support is a common procedure in the clinical practice. The prosthetic restoration in such cases should often splint periodontically treated teeth in order to maintain the remaining teeth in a healthy environment with better control of the occlusal forces. In this paper the treatment of a patient is described where in the maxilla an adhesive fixed partial denture (FPD, Maryland type) was used for restoration and splinting. In the mandible a telescopic FPD was used. Both restorations were fabricated as a shortened dental arch since the patient refused removable partial denture or implants.
