Abstract

Ever since its earliest inception, aircraft technology has amazed humans, with the fl ying successes of aviation pioneers such as the American Wright brothers and the Brazilian Santos-Dumont capturing people’s imagination. With advances in aircraft technology and increases in speed and safety, the numbers of air transport passengers have soared year on year.
