Abstract
Three members of the Identification and Referral to Improve Safety (IRIS) research team set out the difficulties they faced when attempting to implement a domestic violence initiative in the UK. This article provides background to the study and an insight into the experiences of some of the research team members including a researcher, an advocate from tertiary sector women's services and a midwifery lecturer.
