Abstract
This paper explores the use of technology enhanced learning that is used to enhance student learning. It emphasises that technologies afford opportunities to enhance learning, but successful outcomes depend on the way in which technologies are embedded in subject and course design and the extent to which they facilitate alignment between expected learning outcomes, coursework and assessment. The use of the term“Technology Enhanced Learning”(TEL) is placed into a context within the paper to establish a clear focus on student learning as it guides you towards making effective decisions about how institutions establish, support and quality assure TEL.
