Abstract
Unhealthy eating and limited physical activity not only lead to a growing waistline, it can also increase risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even cancer. While prevention is often better achieved by targeting whole populations, when it comes to behavioural factors leading to chronic disease, the approach is often concentrated on those at high-risk. To overcome this, Dr Sanjoti Parekh developed a simple tool for motivating large numbers of general practice patients to adopt and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
