This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the clinical effects (benefits and harms) of intermittent flushing of heparin versus 0.9% sodium chloride to prevent occlusion in long term central venous catheters (CVCs) in infants and children.
