Abstract
Wireless sensor networks (WSN) as shown in Figure 11.1 have attracted wide attention of research community during the past few years in applications ranging from environmental monitoring, heathcare,to mission-critical industrial and military applications. This growing interest can be largely attributed to new applications enabled by large-scale networks of small devices capable of harvesting information from the physical environment [AMC07], performing simple processing on the extracted data and transmitting it to remote locations.
