Abstract
For the last fve years, art communities connected by the Sulu Zone are bustling with artist-initiated projects with support from statesponsored engagements in contemporary art. These are exhibitions on artistic practices which are beginning to from, photography included. The latter became a forefront in current artistic practices that culminated in recent engagements around the East ASEAN Growth Area (EAGA) such as in General Santos City and Zamboanga, Philippines in 2017 and Kuching, Malaysia in 2019.
