Finland's history and geoclimatical conditions determined very specifically its culture and territory. Today the country is often known for its relationship to Nature, which is considered to be exceptional. However, like elsewhere, reality is a bit more contrasted since Finland remains in majority urban for 61% of the population. At a time when sustainable development questions past practices and suggests new ways of spatial development, how do Finnish cities evolve considering the weight, which is traditionally given and visible to natural environment? Our aim is to contribute to the analysis of this situation through a focus on labeled sustainable new neighbourhoods.
