Abstract

With accelerated educational internationalization, second language acquisition (SLA) during study abroad (SA) as ‘a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary field of study’ (108), while confronted with the challenges of practical and theoretical innovations, constitutes an important part of SLA research and arouses wide attention from academia. Against this background, this book attempts to reveal how the SA experience impacts second language learners in terms of social, linguistic, cultural, and interpersonal perspectives. Covering up-to-date theoretical perspectives and research methods in SLA during SA, this book discusses current progress and drawbacks in this field and sheds light upon the future.
