Abstract

This chapter sets the scene for the focus of this book through discussion of a voluntary network organization that fosters self-directed, collaborative, lifelong action learning, social inclusion and justice, participatory action research, and democratic, shared and distributed action leadership through maintaining a learning conference culture. The chapter is based on our personal experience as co-founders of ALARA and on our previous publication (Zuber-Skerritt & Passfield, 2016a).
