Abstract
There has been an explosion of novel therapies readily available for the management of rheumatic diseases including biologic and targeted synthetic DMARDs. It is timely then to update the clinician on practical management issues relevant to daily practice - how to safely use these new therapies in all too common clinical situations especially when it is clear guidance will not come from clinical trials due to exclusions.
