Abstract
Highly disciplined transfers: Polysialyltransferases are important enzymes responsible for the biosynthesis of a-linked polysialic acids. We used a multidisciplinary approach, and propose the first substrate-binding model for a bacterial polysialyltransferase. Furthermore, we identify key amino acid residues involved in catalysis.
