Abstract

This book is a major contribution to the study of capitalist diversity, in general, and the speci® city of institutional difference, in particular. It is simply not possible in a brief review to do justice to the richness and originality of this large collection, but some indication of the book’ s potential importance can be given by listing some of the most prominent contributors. Included here are chapters by some of the most interesting and in¯ uential ® gures in contemporary theory, especially from Europe. In addition to the editors, there are chapters by William Coleman, Charles Sabel, Wolfgang Streek, Paul Hirst, Jonathan Zeitlin, Benjamin Coriat, Philippe Schmitter, Wyn Grant, and Grahame Thompson.
