Abstract

In genuine emergencies a pharmacist is authorised to supply a designated prescription medicine to a patient under certain circumstances. In most jurisdictions a pharmacist may provide three days' supply or the smallest manufacturer's pack (for liquids, aerosols, creams etc), for immediate need of medication continuance for S4 medicines in circumstances where it is not practicable for the person to obtain a prescription from an authorised supplier.
