Abstract

This is a descriptive account of an intergenerational project between Theatre for Seniors and The Community Theatre in Singapore. The project explores the relationship between health and inequality through a devised performance titled Something in the Air, in reference to the country’s regular occurrences of transboundary haze. Drawing on observation notes and conversations with the participants, the paper reflects on the complex learning opportunities that emerge when creating community performance not only on an intergenerational level but one where class and ethnic diversity also come into play.
