We also learned with sadness that Arthur L. (Butch) Wilson died on 10 May 2018, aged 67. Butch was a distinguished scholar of adult education, whose published work focused on the role of power in planning adult education programmes. He wrote and edited several important books, served as an editor of the Adult Education Quarterly, and received the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE)’s Cyril O. Houle Award for outstanding literature in adult education. Prior to retirement in 2015, he had been Professor (and for a difficult period, chair of the Department of Education) at Cornell University. He was also a contributor to, and active supporter of, this journal, and was for many years as a member of our Editorial Advisory Board. We mourn his passing.
