Abstract

Results using a recent analytical solution for constant flux infiltration are compared with those obtained from using a well-established numerical approach. For the three cases considered excellent agreement is obtained. However, it is also noted that not all forms of the analytical conductivity function are well suited to numerical simulation due to the asymptotic nature of the particular derived soil-water characteristic at the lower water content end of the scale.
