The restoration of patients with reduced periodontal support is one of the most challenging scenarios in contemporary clinical practice. This case report addresses the problem of restoring a 38-year-old patient with periodontally and endodontically compromised dentition. One way to restore and preserve a natural dentition severely affected by periodontal disease or caries is by means of fixed restorations which splint the remaining abutment teeth rigidly, thus providing the individual abutment teeth with a “group resistance” against occlusal overloading. Cemented telescopic restorations can be the treatment of choice and combines several advantages, such as: • Removal of the superstructure allows better periodontal maintenance • Better marginal fit of the primary copings prevents abutments from caries and induce soft tissue health • The prosthesis can be repaired and maintained without need of replacing it even in the case of an abutment loss.
