Focusing on the films What We do in the Shadows and Twilight, alongside fan performances of hospitality ranging from creative works to bodily modification, this chapter investigates the ways in which the domestic environment of both vampires and humans alike function as a site of hospitality informed by “fannishness” and the attempt to welcome the monstrous into the home. The vampiric home is a liminal space, at once a site of hospitality towards the predator, a place where violence is acceptable and where domestic chores and duties function as a constant drain.
