Abstract
INTRODUCTION The meaningful application of theory (i.e., models and frameworks) can be difficult to do and articulate. Moreover, the degree of difficulty increases when multiple theories better explain complex and dynamic environments such as health care. Once asked, “In which way should theory, research, and practical application of evidence be integrated?” The authors were forced to truly consider how the contextually dependent issues of learning and adoption of evidence inform and intersect with one another beyond a mere statement of theory that can augment their purposes.
