Abstract
‘Filial Duty’ is an 18th century attempt at parent management programme (PMP). Type set above is identical to the font on the book cover of the 1798 edition.1 The editor is the bookseller Elizabeth Newbery who was bequeathed with her husband’s business in 1780, she continued the enterprise until 1802.
