Chemical investigations of the leaves ofGloriosa sp.resulted in the isolation of four new alkaloids, β-lumicolchicoside B and C (1,3), γ-lumicolchicoside B and C (2, 4), and fourknownlumicolchicineand itsderivatives (5 – 8). The chemical structures of the new compounds were determined by extensive 1D/2D NMR, ECD, MS and GC-MS data analysis. These new alkaloids (1 – 4) are the first reported lumicochisine glycosides. We here discuss the isolation, structure elucidation and biological evaluation of the new compounds.
