Abstract
Lesley Pruitt’s book, The Women in Blue Helmets, provides an analysis of the first all-female formed police unit (FFPU) deployed by India to the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). Pruitt, adopting a normative, criticalconstructivist feminist approach, delivers an exhaustive account of the creation, work and implications of the unit at both individual and structural levels.
